My promises
1. I will be kind
I will treat people the way I want to be treated. I will not call names, make fun of anybody, or join in when somebody else does. If someone asks me to stop, I stop.
2. I will look after other people's stuff
I will not break, burn, steal from or wreck anybody else's build. People spend a long time on those. If I break something by accident, I will say so and help fix it.
3. I will keep private things private
I will not tell anybody my address, my school, my phone number or my last name, and I will not share anybody else's either. I will not send photos of myself.
4. I will keep the club in the club
I will not ask anybody to talk to me on a different app, and if somebody asks me, I will say no and tell Eris. I will not share Arcadia's addresses with people outside the club.
5. I will keep my password to myself
Not even my best friend gets it. I will not use somebody else's account.
6. I will play fair
No cheats, no hacked clients, no glitches to get free stuff. Winning that way is not winning.
7. I will tell someone
If something upsets me, scares me or feels weird, I will tell Eris straight away — even if I think I might have broken a rule myself, and even if I am not sure. I know I will not get in trouble for telling.
If the thing that worries me is about Eris, I will tell my parent or carer instead, or email Piyush Gupta, who looks after safeguarding for the club and does not work for Arcadia — pgupta@tutordoctor.co.uk. I can also ring Childline on 0800 1111, free, any time.
8. I will not record other people
I will not take screenshots, photos or recordings of anybody in the club, or of a session, and I will not post anything from Arcadia anywhere else. What happens in the club stays in the club.
9. I will be kind about other people’s work
When I say what I think of somebody’s game or build, I will say something good first and be helpful about the rest. Everybody in here is learning, including me.
10. I will let people be different
Some people in the club type instead of talking, need longer to answer, read slowly, or get upset by things I don't. That is fine and it is not something to laugh at. It might be me next week.
What Eris promises back:
To listen the first time. To take it seriously if you tell me something is wrong. To explain what is happening instead of just switching things off. To never be cross with you for telling me something. And to keep this club a place you actually want to be.
