Your Own World

Some members get a private world for lessons and projects. Your tutor gives you the address.

Code World — first-time setup

The Code World has extra mods (Create machines and coding turtles), so it needs a quick one-time setup on your computer. You only do this once. It's free.

  1. Install NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1: go to neoforged.net, download the 1.21.1 installer (version 21.1.233), and open it (it runs with Java). Choose Install client and click OK. This adds a "NeoForge 1.21.1" option to your normal Minecraft launcher.
  2. Download the Arcadia mods (one file): the button below.
  3. Unzip it and put all the files into your mods folder: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods (create the "mods" folder if it isn't there).
  4. Open the normal Minecraft launcher, pick the NeoForge 1.21.1 profile from the dropdown, and press Play.
  5. Go to Multiplayer → Add Server → put in code-mc.arcadia.cognitocoding.com → Join.

Your tutor adds your Minecraft username to the world first, so if it says "not whitelisted", just ask them. After this one-time setup, you only pick the NeoForge profile and play. The first time you join, give the world a minute to wake up.
